This is a significant European distinction, as the clinic now joins a selected network of more than 60 educational centres across Europe, which actively contribute to the advancement of shoulder and elbow surgery. The recognition is valid for the period 2026–2030 and confirms the high level of clinical expertise, scientific activity and educational competence of the team.

A distinction linked to clinical practice and education

Recognition as a SECEC Education Centre is not merely an honorary title. It is accompanied by an active role within the European educational community and means that the clinic:

  • will host European fellows for specialised training in shoulder & elbow surgery,
  • will participate in international webinars, mentoring sessions and scientific activities,
  • will organise educational activities and live surgeries,
  • will make a substantial contribution to shaping the next generation of specialised orthopaedic surgeons.

The clinic’s selection by SECEC is based on its continuous involvement in modern, minimally invasive techniques, the systematic application of evidence-based methods and its consistent presence in international scientific networks. The recognition of the clinic as a SECEC Education Centre reflects Dr Leonidou’s long-standing commitment to continuous education, the transfer of expertise and the maintenance of high European standards in everyday surgical practice.

What this means for patients

Participation in a European network of educational centres ensures that the clinic operates within an environment of continuous evaluation, collaboration and exchange of experience. For patients, this translates into:

  • access to modern, evidence-based surgical techniques,
  • implementation of international safety and quality protocols,
  • continuous updates on developments in shoulder and elbow surgery.

Surgical practice evolves through knowledge and collaboration. The inclusion of the Minimally Invasive Orthopaedic Surgery Clinic in the network of SECEC Education Centres confirms a consistent strategic choice: continuous development, international outreach and patient-centred education.
